Brahma Kumaris, with its spiritual headquarters in Mount Abu, India, comprises a worldwide network of centres in more than 110 countries and is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) of the United Nations accredited with General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Brahmakumaris Environment Initiative
This initiative is about awakening greater environmental awareness within our own organization, as well as collaborating and learning from others through dialogue, partnerships, UN conferences and local initiatives. Our main aim is to help people to experience greater well-being through inner peace and higher values.
India One Solar Project
A research project sponsored by the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and German Ministry for the Environment, the solar power plant near Mount Abu, will be the first of its kind in the world in dish technology in direct steam generation mode, with full thermal storage for 16 hrs continuous operations for base load.
The Brahma Kumaris vision of equality for women is about restoring dignity and self-respect , and creating an atmosphere where women feel safe and stress free.
Research and promotion of a values–based model of modern health care, offering improved understanding in response to suffering and encouraging the development of positive thoughts and attitudes is done through UK–based charity The Janki Foundation for Global Healthcare.
